Fraternization Song: Call Me Maybe Version

2

Isn’t there a “Call Me Maybe” version for everything nowadays?

If you enjoyed former Aerographer’s Mate 2nd Class Logan Vath’s take on forbidden love between officer and enlisted personnel, check out the fraternization song in the video below, set to the tune of Carly Ray Jepsen’s infectiously annoying hit:

According to the video’s description, it was posted by the Coalition of Sailors Against Destructive Decisions aboard destroyer Dewey, homeported in San Diego, and has more than 2,500 views since being posted in mid-December.

The sailor, who identifies himself as an E-4, sings, “Hey I just met you/ And this is crazy/ Our only problem/ Is you outrank me,” in the video that shows a group of people drinking and playing beach volleyball. Two hook up and only realize the problem when they get to work in the morning.

While both Vath’s video and the Dewey CSADD video poke some fun at the topic, this video shows the consequences of fraternization, when the sailor sings, “And as I’m chipping paint, I’m wondering was it worth it?/ It wasn’t worth it.”
