AAA has predicted an 11 percent increase in holiday travel this Thanksgiving and 94 percent of the travelers — 39.7 million of your fellow Americans — will get where they’re going on the road. Many celebrate those gatherings of family and friends with a drink or two — or three. Given the potentially catastrophic consequences of drinking and driving — a fine, points, jail or even death — the wise will heed the Naval Safety Center’s humorous but serious reminder to appoint a designated driver who skips the alcohol and gets folks home or back to the hotel safely.
