The folks at Jalopnik get credit for this discovery. Stay tuned until the final frame:

Sure, the special warfare combatant-craft crewman recruiting ad’s got the traditional blazing guns and the rousing soundtrack, but what’s your take on the twist? Too silly for a serious riverine outfit, or a memorable image suited for what’s becoming a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it youth culture?

Also, how long until the request-for-proposals goes out for the AquaKiller 3000 Automated Networked Geosynchronous Lightweight Ergonomic Ray (ANGLER)? At some point, you have to take the fight to the fish.

The video went up Friday on YouTube and already has more than 13,000 views.

  1. How funny it looks like it was filmed in Louisiana because the fish do jump in the boats I think it gives it a true to form idea of some of the odd things that happen while you serve.

  2. John Herron on

When was in the Navy one evening a flying fish landed on the deck of the resupply ship I was stationed aboard. Strange things do happen and probably all service men and women have stories to tell. I think this just happened during filming and was too cool to leave out.

  3. Dodging a snake in a CH46, flying to the training area in Subic, attacked by a dang monkey while on patrol in the jungles of Cubi Point. Nearly got trampled by an Indian Elephant while on a company hump in Thailand….had the ships cook fry-up all the flying fish that ended up on the deck of our ship USS Alamo LSD 33 during high seas off Guam back in 1981….Awesome!
